Hino Motors Manufacturing U.S.A. Inc. (HMM), a U.S. manufacturing subsidiary of Hino Motors, Ltd. (Hino), held a grand opening ceremony at the site of their Arkansas Plant (Marion, Arkansas) at 11 a.m. on February 7th local time (1 a.m. on February 8th Japan time).
The big ceremony was attended by special guests including The Honorable Mr. Mike Beebe, Governor of Arkansas, The Honorable Frank Fogleman, Mayor of Marion, The Honorable William Johnson, Mayor of West Memphis, Mr. Seiichi Sudo, president of Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. Scania and Hino join forces in the heavy segment of the Japanese truck market. Hino’s truck range caters for all transport segments from delivery vehicles up to trucks with gross weights around 40 tonnes.
Hino Motors to enter the 2008 Dakar Rally aiming at its 18th consecutive course finish and a victory in the under 10-liter class.
Hino will participate in the truck division of the Dakar Rally (commonly known as the Paris-Dakar), the most grueling offroad race in the world, which is scheduled to start on January 5th, 2008. With two medium-duty trucks Hino Ranger Pro, Hino is aiming at completing the course for the 18th consecutive year and a victory in the under 10-liter cubic capacity production truck class.
After receiving the formal approval of the Chinese government, Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (Guangzhou Automobile Group) and Hino Motors, Ltd. (Hino) have established a new joint venture, Guangqi Hino Motors Co., Ltd. (Guangqi Hino). As a joint capital investment, Guangqi Hino obtained the license from the related Chinese government department, for the production and sales of commercial vehicles.
For the development of commercial vehicles of Guangzhou Automobile Group and the business development of Hino in China, Guangqi Hino was established in line with the Chinese automobile industry development policy under the support of central government and the local governments of Guangzho and Shenyang cities. The establishment was based on reorganization of Guangzhou Yangcheng Automobile Co., Ltd. (a company invested in by Guangzhou Automobile Group) and Shenyang Shenfei Hino Automobile Manufacturing Co., (a company invested in by Hino). Guangqi Hino continues to produce Yangcheng Automobile’s existing products at its present factory, and is constructing a new factory in Conghua, Guangzhou city, with plans to commence production in the middle of 2009.

Hino Motors Presents Concept Models of a Large-sized Touring Coach and a Heavy-duty ASV Tractor, and Other Exhibits at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007
Hino Motors is going to present four reference exhibits, including concept models of a large-sized touring coach and a heavy-duty ASV tractor, and various technologies at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007 to be held from Saturday, October 27 to Sunday, November 11 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture.
