Isuzu recently showed off its new N-Series low-cab-forward truck. Enhancements for 2008 are focused on increasing driver comfort and safety, with a new cab-mounting system said to deliver a smoother ride. The cab itself is larger and more spacious, with more side-to-side and front-to-back room, providing more seat travel on both standard and crew-cab models.
The N-Series also features a new dashboard with a full complement of easy-to-see gauges and warning lamps. A 5-inch opening can accommodate such optional equipment as radios, GPS systems and rear-view cameras.
Isuzu Motors Limited (Isuzu) held the opening ceremony of Isuzu Ukraine [Isuzu Automotive Company, Ukraine], a truck/bus sales joint venture in Ukraine, at Bogdan headquarters on April 28, local time.
Approximately 500 people related to the venture participated in the ceremony, including Isuzu President Yoshinori Ida, Bogdan President Oleg Svinarchuk, and Sojitz Corporation (Sojitz) Managing Executive Officer Kazunori Teraoka.
Reports are that General Motors has sold its 7.8% stake in Isuzu Motors to a group of investment partners and strategic shareholders in the Japanese manufacturer of trucks, commercial vehicles, and diesel engines. The deal will put about $300 000 000 in GMs pocket, and will still allow business relationships between the two companies to continue. Those include the manufacturing of light trucks in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, diesel-engine efforts in Europe and the USA, and the GMC-Isuzu commercial truck venture (such as the GMC W-series that is produced in Janesville, WI).
