DaimlerChrysler Australia/Pacific and Mitsubishi Fuso Join Forces for Further Expansion in Australia

DaimlerChrysler Australia/Pacific (DCAuP) and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today announced closer cooperation in the Australia commercial vehicle market. DCAuP will assume full responsibility for wholesale distribution of Mitsubishi Fuso trucks and buses in Australia in the future. The inclusion of Mitsubishi Fuso within DaimlerChryslers wholesale organization is intended to support the further growth of Mitsubishi Fuso – brand trucks and buses in Australia. The move, to be completed by years end, also will create significant efficiencies and foster greater coordination between DaimlerChryslers commercial vehicle brands sold in Australia.

Mitsubishi Fuso Announces Start of New Initiative in North American Market

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today announced the official launch of a new initiative in the North American market. Last July, Mitsubishi Fuso announced a cooperative project with fellow DaimlerChrysler truck brand Sterling Trucks for Sterling to market a light-duty truck based on Fusos highly successful Canter product. Now, Sterling has unveiled the new product offering at the National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) show in Atlanta. Called the Sterling 360, the Class 3-5 truck will be available at selected Sterling dealers across North America.

Mitsubishi Fuso Launches Heavy-Duty Truck Line in South Africa

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation, one of Asias leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, has launched a line of heavy-duty trucks for the South African market. The FP & FV Series trucks, with gross vehicle weight (gvw) from 17.9 to 26.0 tons, will be available later this month for South Africa customers. The vehicles were introduced to customers and press at events held in East London.

Mitsubishi Fuso Announces Sales Increases

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation today announced significant sales growth in Thailand. In 2005, Mitsubishi Fuso increased Thailand sales by 37% to 2,237 units (retail). This positive sales trend has continued in 2006. The sales growth was underlined by MFTBC President & CEO Harald Boelstler in remarks made at the 27th Annual Bangkok International Motor Show.

Sterling Truck Corporation Unveils New Sterling 360 (Mitsubishi Canter)

Sterling CanterSterling Truck Corporation introduced its new low cab-over-engine (LCOE) truck — the Sterling 360— at The Work Truck Show 2006. The new vehicle offers a complete, value-added package, including expert customer support, easy financing and body upfitting options. It also provides easy entry and exit, a larger and more ergonomic step position, and a 73° door pivot. Plus, with more than 90 cu. ft. of cab volume and more floor and belly room, the Sterling 360 comfortably seats three and allows the driver to pass through the cab and exit curbside for added safety and convenience.

The Sterling 360 features a wheel cut angle for a tighter turning radius and large windshield and windows for front and side visibility. For easy upfitting, the truck’s shorter cab-to-body clearance of 4.5″ allows for longer bodies with more load-carrying capacity and a greater range of body mount positions for optimum weight distribution and reduced wind resistance. Additionally, with 300 lbs. less curb weight than comparable models, the vehicle carries more payload.
