Highlights of Nissan Diesel’s Exhibits at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show

Nissan Diesel Motor Co., Ltd. will exhibit three heavy-duty trucks and an emission control system under the theme of “Innovation & Quality” at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show, which opens at Makuhari Messe (Nippon Convention Center) in Chiba prefecture on Friday, October 26.

This year’s theme of “Innovation & Quality” expresses the strong determination of the Nissan Diesel Group to maintain the close ties forged with customers since the company was founded and to provide technological innovations, solutions and top quality in working together with customers to open up new avenues to the future.

Nissan Diesel will provide a Spacerunner non-step heavy-duty transit bus for use in the commercial vehicle test-ride program to be held outdoors.

Nissan Diesel Concludes Trademark Licensing Agreement with Germany’s VDA for Worldwide Use of AdBlue

Nissan Diesel Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that it has concluded a trademark licensing agreement with the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) for worldwide use of the AdBlue registered trademark. AdBlue is the brand name of a solution of high purity urea that must be used in urea selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, a technology for reducing exhaust emissions of diesel engines. This agreement allows Nissan Diesel to use the AdBlue trademark in every country around the world. It completes the conditions for full-fledged sales of the urea solution in overseas markets for use in the company’s Quon heavy-duty truck series and other models equipped with a urea SCR system.

Mitsubishi Fuso Makes Major Enhancements to Commercial Vehicle Product Line in Thailand

Mitsubishi Fuso today launched two, key new products for the Thailand market. The FV heavy-duty truck-tractor, a 6×4 vehicle with gross combination weight (gcw) of 50.5 tons, is designed to deliver high levels of economy, safety and comfort in towing heavy loads. The FM medium-duty truck, with 15-ton gross vehicle weight (gvw), delivers significant advantages in efficiency, performance and safety, while featuring a dramatic and highly functional design.

Isuzu Rolls Out New N-Series, F-Series

Isuzu recently showed off its new N-Series low-cab-forward truck. Enhancements for 2008 are focused on increasing driver comfort and safety, with a new cab-mounting system said to deliver a smoother ride. The cab itself is larger and more spacious, with more side-to-side and front-to-back room, providing more seat travel on both standard and crew-cab models.

The N-Series also features a new dashboard with a full complement of easy-to-see gauges and warning lamps. A 5-inch opening can accommodate such optional equipment as radios, GPS systems and rear-view cameras.

Nissan Diesel Motor took over 100% share of UD Trucks Oceania Pty Ltd. (UDTO, located in Sydney) from Marubeni Corp. for the purpose of establishment of direct manageable operation-base in Australia, and made it to the wholly owned subsidiary.

Nissan Diesel intends to strengthen the presence of UD-brand trucks in the Australian market by this integration, where the truck demand is significantly growing in recent years, and aims at offering new products effectually in time, and to enhance of the sales activities.

DaimlerChrysler Australia/Pacific and Mitsubishi Fuso Join Forces for Further Expansion in Australia

DaimlerChrysler Australia/Pacific (DCAuP) and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) today announced closer cooperation in the Australia commercial vehicle market. DCAuP will assume full responsibility for wholesale distribution of Mitsubishi Fuso trucks and buses in Australia in the future. The inclusion of Mitsubishi Fuso within DaimlerChryslers wholesale organization is intended to support the further growth of Mitsubishi Fuso – brand trucks and buses in Australia.
